剧情：
张三畏与李四维是好朋友，三畏在北京做官，在上海的洋房中住着一个姨太太和弟弟玉成，因嫌人少，让四维夫妻也住了进去。四维之妻陶春丽聪明漂亮善交际，引得姨太太也开始努力打扮。
玉成热情好学，因捐款受到哥哥的责骂。春丽偷了张家的钱，侦探赵有为住进张家，春丽随即发现赵有为与姨太太有关系。
侦探宣布偷钱的是玉成，为保护春丽玉成只好承认，但春丽却不愿与玉成回北方，玉成非常生气。侦探欲敲三畏竹杠，春丽站出来揭露真相……
